Responsibilities:

Plans, organizes and directs production activities in accordance to the business plan using proven best practices with focus on safe work implementation. 

Arranges for training on new equipment and optimization methods.

Works side by side with mill management to execute strategies required to enhance current milling operations practices and programs.

Builds the capabilities of the mill operations team to enhance operations ability to achieve financial and operational strategies.

Assists mill management to identify and prioritize continuous improvement projects that will increase efficiency, and lower unit costs to optimize asset value.

 Education, Skills & Requirements:

10+ years of related work experience including leading teams/operations with strong background in frontline supervision, policy and organizational development.

Tertiary qualification in engineering or geological sciences preferred.

Detailed knowledge and practical experience of conventional milling and metallurgy operations and the integration of supporting groups such as maintenance, technical services and processing.

Excellent administrative and organizational skills with effective  communication skills.

Prior expatriate experience in developing countries would be advantageous.

Mechanical  &  Electrical Coordinator  

• Oversee all aspects of  Mechanical and Electrical service design and construction and direct all persons reporting to him in their daily duties
• Conduct construction team meetings and ensure health and safety issues are raised regularly

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Endako Mines, A Joint Venture of Thompson Creek Mining Ltd. and Sojitz Moly Resources, Inc. is currently recruiting a full-time Senior Accountant.

Endako Mines is a 55,000 tonne per day, open pit molybdenum mine, mill and roaster. Reporting to the Administration Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing financial analysis to support operational decision making, optimizing the use of the financial systems at the site, coordinating transaction processing and financial reporting activities with the Shared Service groups.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Support the Administration Manager in providing the site leadership team with key financial information for decision making
• Provide financial data and perform cost analyses to identify opportunities, efficiencies and waste (this may include: trend analysis, variance analysis, scenario planning, etc.)
• Explain and coach department heads on their financial performance versus plan
• Coordinate month-end activities that occur on-site and meeting financial reporting deadlines.
• Review and validate financial reports prepared by the Finance Shared Service group
• Assist with the preparation of budgets, financial statements, forecasts and other reports for the operation
• Assist in the development of Finance’s Standard Policies and Procedures
• Investigate variances in actual results versus plan

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

Purpose of Role:

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND SUMMARY

Develops, plans, and implements corporate sustainability strategy and programs. The incumbent provides expert input and participates in strategic decision-making in respect to the Sustainability Projects for the Company. The position is one of the decision makers on all matters relating to sustainable development projects and activities in consultation with the COO, Exploration, country operations and Centerra executives. Directs, and coordinates activities involved in developing policy, standards, guidance, procedures, monitoring reporting processes and techniques for corporate sustainability programs by performing the following duties personally or through local country operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Will ensure industry leading sustainability programs that efficiently and effectively manage the inherent and other corporate responsibility (sustainability) risks, ensure compliance while meeting our business objectives.  This position is responsible for the preparation and execution of sustainability programs, policies and procedures. This position is expected to report on the progress and status of sustainability (especially community development and investment) performance to both country and corporate management.  The main focus of this position is to develop strong sustainability capabilities and competencies within our locations, in addition to: 

• Ensure that sustainability policies and procedures are integrated within the operations of each mine, based on unique risk factors.  Ensure that sustainability (especially stakeholder engagement, strategic community development and investment) programs across areas such as community engagement effectively manage risk factors and drive controls.
• Works with country operations to formulate sustainability plans, coordinate activities, and establish reporting procedures Oversee the sustainability requirements and programs for the corporation and coordinate appropriate effort in the field with various operating departments at the locations. Oversee the design, development/enhancement, and implementation of strategies, programmes, procedures, initiatives, and services that meet identified business needs and contribute towards achievement of the overall function goals and objectives.
• Prepares sustainability research for project feasibility studies and reports on progress as required.
• Coordinates activities of sustainability staff conducting successive phases of problem analysis, solution proposals, and testing.
• Reviews operations to ensure coordination of efforts and timely submission of reports.
• Analyzes reports to evaluate program effectiveness and prepare impact analysis to assess programs and implement remedying techniques or other innovative solutions.
• Ratify departmental goals and objectives and monitor and manage towards achievement of these. Set the tone, ethics and values context, and performance and service standards for the department.
• Partners with NGO’s and governmental agencies.
• Develops and maintains budgets and schedules and consolidates and track community investment budgets and expenditures.
• Provides technical assistance to agencies conducting related socio-economic, human rights and other sustainability (land acquisition, resettlement and artisanal mining) studies.
• Lead the programs to successfully update and implement the sites closure plans
• Prepared required impact reports on the local community for mine closure plans.  Prepare plan to mitigate.

• Plan and monitor sustainability practices and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate strategies and polices as well as legislation statutes and regulations.
• Liaison and maintain good relations with government departments and authorities when applicable.

• Remain current on regulatory development and changes in legislation.
• Responsible for meeting the sustainability operating costs and budget.
• Ensure the timely and complete submission of required reporting for government permit applications, renewals and monitoring reports. Follow up with stakeholders on the application and impacts of the permit.
• Promote and increase the awareness of sustainability law, sensitivities and requirements of our programs with all of our communities of interest.

Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Operating Officer (COO), the position of Director, Environment is the highest level of Environmental expertise in the organization. The position is responsible for developing and managing the corporation’s global environment policies and strategies and ongoing activities to ensure that all operating facilities, exploration sites and entities are in compliance with the corporation’s environment policies and values. This includes ensuring compliance with applicable environment regulations issued by governmental organizations and accepted international standards adopted by Centerra, while concurrently assuring that the corporation’s perspective and interests are advanced and protected.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Guide the development and implementation of the corporate environment policies throughout the global operating and exploration units of the corporation.
• Provide direction and assistance to the corporation in developing and implementing its environment strategies and establishing strategic risk programs and liability management. This position will participate in the statutory approvals of major projects.
• Provide technical input and support to the corporation in the development and implementation of an internal audit program for environment in liaison with health and safety Director.
• Provide interpretation and guidance to the corporation to ensure accurate information on environment regulations and proposed regulations affecting the industry and the business enterprise.
• Assist all operating facilities and exploration in their efforts to remain free of any environment regulatory violations through the initiation of facility and regulatory audit and oversight. If deficiencies exist, keep the Centerra COO and VP Exploration informed and work with responsible site and exploration personnel to correct deficiencies as required.
• Propose and guide the implementation of the most economically feasible solutions to the environment issues facing the corporation.
• Maintain contact with appropriate government and regulatory authorities.
• Complete environment due diligence on any project or company acquisition.
• In conjunction with the VP Human Resources, the COO, General Counsel, VP Exploration, Director Sustainable Development, and Investor Relations provide input, support and implementation of any environment related community, government and public relations strategies and initiatives.

 SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• The nature of this position requires the incumbent to have a strong technical background, be thoroughly knowledgeable of all Centerra operations and advanced projects, and have an excellent working relationship with the senior management, operations personnel, project engineering and business development personnel in the Company. • A relevant university degree and a minimum of 15-20 years of relevant environment experience in the global mining industry is required including water management planning, waste management, and permitting. You will provide structural engineering oversight for a broad range of projects in Cameco’s major project portfolio.  These projects will be executed both within Cameco and by outside consulting companies providing engineering services to Cameco.
