P.T. Redpath Indonesia (PTRI) has an opening for a Construction Leader to join their dynamic team at the Freeport Project in Tembagapura, Indonesia.

 

Closing: October 1, 2018

Location: Tembagapura, Indonesia
 

Rotation: 6 weeks on, 4 weeks off
 

Shift Length: 12 hours
 

Compensation: Redpath offers a comprehensive wage and benefit package
 

Travel: Flights provided from point of hire to job site
 

Accommodations: Camp setting

 

Job Description:

The Construction Leader is responsible to complete assigned construction tasks efficiently with little to no supervision. The incumbent will provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced miners.

Tasks assigned include installing grizzley’s, pouring forms, installing vent tubing etc.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect existing underground headings to ensure the workplace is safe and assigned construction tasks can be executed safely and to design specifications.

  • Mentor and provide leadership to Construction Miner and Construction Labourer team members

  • Use of scaling bars, pneumatic hand-held drills, cutting and welding equipment, rubber-tired underground mobile equipment such as LHD (Load-Haul-Dump) units, scissor trucks, boom truck, shotcrete sprayers and other support vehicles in a confined environment

  • The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)

  • Basic literacy (read, write, basic math and read blue prints) required

  • 5 years as construction worker prior to advancement to lead hand

  • 5 years’ experience in an underground mining environment

  • Must understand responsibilities of leadership

  • Ability to read civil prints

  • Basic understanding of mine regulations pertaining to task

  • Ability to conduct risk assessment of specific task

  • Understanding of work related procedures and standards

  • Ability to recognize and resolve problems as required

  • Ability to adapt to a varying work environment often requiring the employee to develop new and innovative work methods

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills
