Redpath has the following opportunity available at a Redpath JV project in Canada.

 

Engineering Manager

 

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Engineering Manager is responsible for assisting in the planning of the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repair of industrial mechanical equipment and other associated equipment and controls required for the safe and efficient execution of the project to which you will be assigned.

 

DUTIES:

  • Manage and direct site engineering with coordination of home office technical support teams to the project

  • Oversee Engineering for the Project. Direct and guide where necessary to ensure compliance to all practical engineering guidelines and legislation

  • Participate in the development of project scope, budget, schedule, and estimate.

  • Participate in meetings with vendors, clients and project team

  • Manage subordinates work load

  • Coach and mentor subordinates

  • In the field, liaise with vendors, construction crews and resolve engineering issues relating to construction within company policy and procedures

  • Compile weekly and monthly engineering look-a-head report from detailed engineering schedule and facilitate weekly review meetings with engineering vendors

  • Develop supply and construction specifications, assemble RFQ documents and liaise with Project Controls

  • Perform technical evaluation of bids, write evaluation report

  • Review specifications, drawings and construction packages

  • Manage the circulating of these within the organization

  • Organize project-review meetings

  • Perform any other functions as directed by senior management in support of the Projects

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Mining Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) license
  • Minimum 10 years ' experience
