Location:                    White River, Ontario

Rotation:                    14 days on - 7 days off

Shift Length:              12 hours

Job Summary:

 

Under the supervision Project Manager, the Project Engineer will be part of the site based management team. The incumbent will act as the primary point of contact for all Field Engineering functions, QA/QC and commissioning.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Liaise between the Company’s engineering team, and the Contractor’s Head Office Engineering team and Project Operations Team

  • Ensure IFC prints are approved and issued in a timely manner

  • Manages RFI‘s and field engineering decisions

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and schedules

  • Work closely with the client in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities

  • Accountable for the Quality Management Plan

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core – Basic (or other provincial equivalent) (preferred)

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license

  • Extensive experience with mine hoisting systems as well as shaft sinking and equipping operations

  • Advanced understanding of mine regulations

  • Understanding of work related procedures and standards

  • Ability to lead risk assessments

  • Ability to conduct risk assessment of specific task

  • Ability to multi task and work safely and effectively

  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently

  • Ability to recognize and resolve problems as required

  • Ability to adapt to a varying work environment often requiring the employee to develop new and innovative work methods

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Follow Redpath Canada Limited and client standards and procedures related to health, safety and environment.

  • Work in accordance to local legislation.
