Job Description

Project:                       H.G. Young

Location:                    RedLake, Ontario

Rotation:                     2 weeks on - 2 weeks off

Shift Length:              11 hours (Averaging hours site)

Travel:                         Provided from airport closest to point of hire

Accommodation:       Camp Setting

  • Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (Ontario)
  • Drug test

 

Job Description:

Experience using a Long-tom for development of numerous meters down ramp.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect the workplace and make safe as required
  • Perform equipment checks
  • Recognize hazards and take corrective action
  • Report unsafe conditions
  • Operate various types of equipment
  • Operate hand-held drills such as jacklegs and stopers, cavo, long-tom
  • Follow established regulatory, company, and client rules and regulations
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the task at hand
  • Other duties as required
  • Maintains working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Ability to multi task and work effectively
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently

Requirements:

Required
Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core - Full Basic
Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core – U0061

Minimum 5 years experience with Jackleg/Stoper and Long-tom for a leader position and 3 year for a miners position

Preferred
Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core - U0016

 

 

Health and Safety:

  • Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment

  • Following Company health and safety standards and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to Supervisor

  • Responsible for the use of all safety equipment, i.e.Lanyards, warning signs and labeling, according to company rules and applicable legislation.

  • Responsible to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.

  • Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.
