Mechanical Engineer/QAQC (2017-2616)
The Mechanical Engineer/QAQC works closely with other engineering disciplines and is primarily responsible for providing crucial mechanical decisions and the technical data to support Redpath’s projects. In this role, the Mechanical Engineer/QAQC will facilitate the implementation of project work in accordance with all relevant safety practices, codes and standards, schedule, quality and cost control targets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Have the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Follow Company and Client health and safety standards and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to the Supervisor.
Help optimization of all mining and project equipment
Participate in planning, coordination, procurement, and management of the overall design and engineering process of various projects akin to mechanical requirements
Participate in discussions regarding design and risk management of designs
Research, propose and implement new technologies and/or processes as appropriate and approved
Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, policies and procedures akin to mechanical items
Provides support to project, assisting in providing technical solutions as required
Review of design drawings for site implementation
Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information

Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering
Strong AutoCAD skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and Excel
Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines, and targets
Knowledge of underground mine plants, underground mining/development, mining equipment, mine services, piping and structural.
Knowledge of mine safety regulations
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written
High level of attention to detail, neatness and accuracy
Effective and creative thinker and problem solver
Strong analytical and presentation skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Organized and able the practice work in a fast pace environment
