Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity? Redpath is looking for a Project Controller. Basic experience in projects in either lateral development or shaft sinking is required.

 

Job Description

 

The Project Controller is responsible for the planning and performance monitoring of assigned projects, including providing guidance to operational managers through the implementation of project controls processes and procedures. The incumbent will track performance daily, weekly, and monthly, incorporate quantitative and qualitative analysis, and to define both the physical and the economic performance of the projects and recommend action to be take should deviations from the optimal performance be highlighted.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with compiling and define the controls baselines for projects, including the development of project execution plans, project specific controls procedures.

  • Administrative set-up of new projects, including timekeeping, reporting, chart of accounts and document management.

  • Participate in compiling, updating and tracking project costs and schedules using the software tools.

  • Monitor and support the proper use of the code of accounts on projects.

  • Ensure the Management of Change process is maintained and integrated with Redpath’s policies, procedures and contracts.

  • Assist with analysis of construction change orders and/or claims.

  • Maintain positive, professional relationships within the project team and with the Client.

  • Demonstrate clear and visible commitment to The Redpath Group’s philosophies and guidelines for success at all times.

  • Ensure that the project is carried out in compliance with the Client’s, Redpath’s and jurisdictionally legislated health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • University degree in related scientific, business or engineering field.

  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in field or office-based controls experience related to underground construction projects or operational mining environment.

  • Experience with Primavera P6.

  • Experience with Project Cost Management systems such as Hard Dollar.

     

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Knowledge of software tools (Primavera, Hard Dollar, MS Office).

  • Good understanding of general business interfaces/process as related to procurement, human resources, procurement, engineering, operations, and accounting.

  • Able to understand and interpret contracts and subcontracts.

  • Knowledge of cost and schedule management.

  • Experience with profit/loss, forecasts, budget allocations and expenditures.

  • Proven leadership skills and abilities.

  • Effective conflict resolution skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to facilitate team commitment.

  • Culturally mature – able to work with personnel with different cultural backgrounds.

  • Multilingualism an asset (English, French or Spanish).
