QA/QC Manager (2019-3398)

Job Description

The primary role of the QA/QC Manager is to develop, implement and manage the Redpath quality assurance program for lateral development, mass excavation and underground construction projects. This role also includes supervision, coordination and management of the site QA/QC teams. More specifically, the responsibilities include:

 

  • Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications

  • Assessing client requirements and ensuring that these are met

  • Setting client service standards

  • Specifying quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers

  • Investigating and setting standards for quality and health and safety

  • Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with standards at both national and international level

  • Working with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, systems and procedures

  • Writing management and technical reports and customers’ charters

  • Determining training needs

  • Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality

  • Directing objectives to maximize profitability

  • Recording, analyzing and distributing statistical information

 

Education and Experience

A University degree in Engineering with 5-10 years of technical experience

  • AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (Solidworks)

  • Structural Engineering Software

  • MS Office

  • Internet

     

Knowledge Required

  • Willingness to work in a remote and demanding environment

  • Experience with mine infrastructure and setup

  • Experience in large mechanized development and mass excavation.

  • High level communication and mentoring skills, working with translators and Mongolian work force

  • High level management, organizational and reporting skills

  • Reading and knowledge of measuring tools.

  • Strong AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (Solidworks) skills.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and Excel.

  • Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines, and targets

  • Knowledge of worldwide industry design and material standards

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • High level of attention to detail, neatness and accuracy

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

 

Additional Information:

  • Overtime may be required in order to meet deadlines
  • Site visits will be required
