Software Developer, Geochemistry Systems-North Vancouver British Columbia

Job Description
About the Position:
This position is responsible for the support and continued development of software for our proprietary Geochemistry Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and associated systems. In this role you will be expected to exercise your vision and technical background to help design and build proprietary enterprise software.
Specific Responsibilities
- Development of dynamic web applications, making use of modern JavaScript frameworks
- Implement robust Web APIs based on the .NET platform developed in C#
- Participate in design, development, documentation and testing activities
- Provide internal and client end-user support and troubleshooting for systems e.g. LIMS
- Assist in the definition of user requirements and developing specifications for new modules
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with large scale design efforts and enterprise software development
- Knowledge and experience with multiple technologies such as JavaScript, .NET, C#, application servers, n-tier applications, database management systems
- Complete familiarity with Visual Studio and associated development tools
- Dedication to keeping up to date with current trends and best practices in the software development industry
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or similar relevant program from an accredited academic institution
- 3 – 7 years of relevant professional software development experience
Preference Given To
- BSc. in Geology, Geochemistry, Mineralogy, or related field(s)
- Familiarity with geochemical software
- Experience in mining, mineral exploration or an associated service provider
- Interest/experience in machine learning, deep learning
- Python/R/Statistical Analysis
Physical Demands
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks such as keyboarding;
- Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities
