Technical Sales Representative
A global leader in the underground mining industry, is seeking candidates for a Technical Sales Representative position. Located in Central Ontario, we are the Canadian underground Division of a market-leading supplier of engineering, equipment and service solutions to customers in the global mining industries.
Key accountabilities include maintaining, developing, and enhancing customer business relationships to enable and conclude sales of new mine shaft equipment and ongoing refurbishment and services business.
The successful candidate will be a career salesperson who enjoys working in a team environment and travel mainly throughout Canada and USA mining areas to meet existing and potential customers. Our customer base includes end users and various engineering firms.
You will possess strong mechanical aptitude relating to heavy industrial mechanical equipment and be eager to learn and absorb new information easily, quickly and accurately. Knowledge of aluminum and steel structural design and fabrication considerations would be valuable assets as would a basic understanding of mine hoist systems.
Ability to interact with and communicate effectively at all levels of a customer organization is important. You will interact with mechanics and other trades people, supervisors, superintendents, managers, engineers and procurement specialists.
To succeed the candidate will be skilled at problem solving and strategic sales planning. To provide world class, innovative equipment solutions is expected of this role such that the customer receives best value from the investment made in our equipment.
The successful candidate will be a graduate from a recognized mechanical engineering or technologist program and preferably will have working experience directly associated with underground mining. The ability to communicate and work in both English and French would be a definite asset. Roughly 50% travel and 50% office time is anticipated. The Company offers competitive remuneration through salary and commissions.
